The existing occlusion culling method based on global occlusion map is an innovative representation technology of wide researched occlusion culling area. By analyzing the GOM construction procedure, the paper introduces a novel global occlusion map construction algorithm based on regional correlation to reduce time for computing GOM. It presents a new concept derived from the depth study on visibility correlation between view cells and makes use of directional connection diagram to realize the novel algorithm which is able to reduce the preprocessing time.
