Based on a brief introduction of the development and the limitations of conventional English testing,the author tries to illustrate its modern development from different aspects such as individualization,objectification and suggests that the advantages and convenience of modernized English testing be made full use of to develop a corresponding test result analysis system with high reliability and validity,thus,promoting the reform of college English teaching and learning.
