Abstract
Between 1914 and 1918 in France, some children or young adolescents left their homes and went to fight German invaders as members of the French army. Propaganda narratives often show language productions provided by these youths seeking to join combat units, especially the letter to the parents of the runaway, and the words addressed to the French soldiers to enlist. Both are part of the process of the transition to adulthood in a context of war.
