Abstract

BE ON THE LOOKOUT! An organization may have innovation as a top priority, but if managers spot the types of behavior described by Kathy Jordan, it may never happen. Among her top 10 roadblocks to innovation are withdrawal, catastrophizing, creative sabotage, cultural warfare, and mismanaging resistance. Fortunately, problems can be overcome. As a starting point, she recommends previewing change, welcoming criticism, and encouraging participation in the innovation process.
