To explore the value of serum thyroperoxidase antibody (TPOAb) dynamic change on the therapeutic effect and prognostic assessment of the~(131)I treatment patients with GD,152 outpatients were treated with ~(131)I.The average~(131)I activity given to patients was 5.7±1.6 mCi(from 3.5 to 12 mCi).The levels of serum TPOAb in patients were measured before and 3,6,9,12,18,24,30 and 36 months after~(131)I treatment respectively.The results showed that the patients whose serum TPOAb levels were significantly raised and reduced rapidly to normal level after 24~30 months of~(131)I treatment had a higher cure rate.However,the patients whose serum TPOAb levels were durative increase or reduced slowly had high hypothyroidism complication rate,most of them need consecutive therapy.It suggests that the measurement of dynamic change of serum TPOAb might be useful for assessing the therapeutic effect and prognosis for GD patients treatment with~(131)I.
