Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the curative effect of endoscopic sinus surgery on fungal sinusitis. METHODS The clinical and follow-up data of 30 patients with fungal sinusitis who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery were analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS Twenty-nine cases of non-invasive fungal sinusitis were cured by endoscopic sinus surgery; recurrence occurred in the 1 case of invasive fungal sinusitis two months after being treated by endoscopic sinus surgery and it was cured by lateral rhinotomy. CONCLUSION The treatment of endoscopic sinus surgery is safe, effective, and less painful for patients with non-invasive fungal sinusitis.
