The aim of the study is to establish a cause-effect relation for spruce forest drying up naturally growing on the mountain slopes of Teberdinsky State Biosphere Natural Reserve (TSBNR). Methods . The methodology of the research was the formation of a database for geoecological monitoring of a research laboratory of Karachay-Cherkess State University and the Center of Laboratory Analysis and Technical Measurements in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (CLATM in the KChR). Results. Results have been given for significant increase in the concentration of heavy metals, some types of acids salts in samples of stressed needles in comparison with background samples. Conclusion. The entry of heavy metals into the biosphere is due to technogenic scattering. The most important of them is emission at high temperature and at the burning fuel by motor transport.
