Abstract
Pyrazolines and pyrazolidines represent two important classes of five-membered N-heterocycles found in many natural products, agrochemicals and biologically active molecules. Over the past decades, tremendous efforts have been devoted to the development of efficient methods for efficient construction of these scaffolds. However, the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of pyrazolines and pyrazolidines remains a challenging task for organic chemists. Recently, a wide range of catalytic asymmetric cycloaddition, cyclization and cascade reactions have been developed to access these enantioenriched heterocycles. Thus, this chapter will survey the main recent advances on the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of pyrazoline and pyrazolidine derivatives and working models.
