This paper aims to rethink Almir de Andrade´s intellectual profile as an ideologist of the Brazilian Estado Novo, and editor of the official cultural and political journal Cultura Politica. Taking into account unconsidered aspects of his thought - like his writings on Brazilian social psychology - we expected to show the singularity of his interpretation of the Estado Novo, and also to point out how this interpretation can be connected to a less homogeneous and more dynamic analytical perspective about the official journal Cultura Politica, and the conservative thought during this period.
