Abstract
The preparation is described of some complexes of benzene-1,2-diamine with cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II). The complexes fall into three types: MLX2[L = benzene-1,2-diamine; M = Co(II), Ni(II), or Cu(II); X = Cl– or Br–]; ML2X2(X = Cl–, Br–, NO3–, ClO4–, or ½SO42–), in which the anion is co-ordinated; and ML3X2(X = Cl–, Br–, NO3–, or ClO4–). It has been shown that benzene-1,2-diamine can act as a chelating or as a bridging ligand.
Benzene-1,2-diamine can act as a chelating or bridging ligand in complexes with cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II), forming three types of complexes.
