Abstract
ABSTRACT The essential oil from Cistus ladaniferus L. was separated into acidic/phenolic fraction and neutral fraction by extraction with a sodium hydroxide solution. The acidic/phenolic fraction was converted into methyl esters and ethers. The analysis of this fraction by GC/MS on a nonpolar column resulted in the identification of 40 acids (aliphatic and terpenic) and 14 phenols.
