Available free of charge, the Beta version solution offers as main functions the calculation of load capacity values and the estimation of shallow foundation settlement. The Terzaghi/Vesic equation and factors are used for the load capacity, considering the three modes of rupture: punching, local and general. The prediction of the settlement, except for the thickening, is carried out using the methods derived from the Elasticity Theory and the Schmertmann method, respectively for HEM (homogeneous elastic medium) with semi-infinite layer, finite layer and multilayer, and for NHEM (non-homogeneous elastic medium). In both functions, the calculation sequence was developed in a step-by-step format, allowing the user to define the geometry of the shallow foundation, to choose the option of homogeneous or heterogeneous layer inside the bulb, and to define the type(s) of soil and its geotechnical parameters (SPT, for example). During the calculations, the user has active participation, being able to accept system suggestions or make modifications. For example, the system displays geotechnical parameter values based on correlations with the SPT, which can be modified by the user. The solution developed presents practicality, speed and an error-free calculation sequence when compared to spreadsheet and other types of calculation. The application can be used in computers, tablets and smartphones with internet access and is capable of generating complete documentation of calculations, in reports that present the variables used and the values of intermediate items.
