Objective: To investigate the antihypertensive effect of Cozaar and Its effects on reducing Left ventricular hypertrophy inessential the hypertension (EH). Methods : 56 patients with EH weregiven cozaar 50～100mg once daily for 8 weeks. The bloodpressure was recorded after 8 weeks treatment.Comparsion of thicknrss ofventricle by heart Doppler ultrasound was made at the same time.Result : After 8 weeks of therapy and the left ventricular mass indices were reduced (p0.05). Conclusion:cozaar treatment not only decreased the hypertension,But also remodel the hypertrophiedventricle.

Cozaar treatment not only decreases hypertension but also remodels the hypertrophied heart in essential hypertension patients.
