Recently attention has been focused on the resurgence of cutaneous tuberculosis in the temperate regions.'-Interestingly, tuberculosis has reemerged in areas with a high prevalence of HIV infection. It is probable that impaired cell-mediated-immunity (CMi) as a consequence of HIV infection results iu the reactivation of persisters, the dormant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.^ It is likely that clinicians may encounter more of such cases in the near future, not only in those suffering from malnutrition, lymphomas, receiving corticosteroids or immunosuppressive therapy, but also in those suffering from AIDS.
