Fiber-optic gas detection system based on MCU C8051 is analyzed in this paper. Methane is chosen as the target gas. The absorption signal is analyzed by Fourier series decomposition theory. The first harmonic is chosen to determine the concentration of methane gas. The functions of different modules in the system are explained, and the application of data acquisition and processing module is described and corresponding flow of software is designed. It has the wide application prospects in monitoring of methane gas in coal mine.
