Abstract
Difluoromethyl trifluoro chloroethyl ether was used as an inhalational agent in mongrel dogs and produced satisfactory induction and maintenance of anaesthesia. Low concentrations of the agent produced respiratory depression, which became pronounced in deep anaesthesia, when respiratory slowing was marked. Blood pressure fell progressively as higher concentrations were inhaled. The compound was not compatible with adrenaline. It appeared to be a relatively poor analgesic.
Difluoromethyl trifluoro chloroethyl ether effectively induces and maintains anesthesia in dogs, but may cause respiratory depression and blood pressure drops, and is not compatible with adrenaline.
