Abstract
Digital detox refers to a state when an individual quits or suspends use of digital equipment and devices to utilize that time for social interactions and activities. It is a technique that enables an individual to relieve stress and anxiety incurred from being over occupied by a high utilization of digital devices. The excessive use of these devices and gadgets have made man a slave to technology. The purpose of this study is to learn about exactly how technology is changing people's bodies and behaviors and why it is important to take some time off from the rapid use of technology. It focuses on how the excessive use of various gadgets and networking sites have restricted the natural flow of behavior pattern in humans. It has massively effected their creative process of thinking, making them less focused, less productive and more disconnected from their real lives. The practice of adopting the concept of digital detox is giving individuals a chance to focus on things that they have been forced to ignore with the advent of technology. It helps them maintain a healthy balance between a normal life and the time spent using such electronic devices. The lack of constant distraction allows people to concentrate on some important issues of their life and gain a better perspective towards it which they did not focus on earlier because of their constant engagement with various electronic gadgets. Secondary data has enabled the researcher to understand this growing phenomenon and its importance in today's times in order to maintain a healthy living balance, which has been disrupted by the fast paced and constant use of technology. This paper also throws light on how technology has affected the health status of the current generation and how they can avoid falling in the trap of a technological driven lifestyle. Digital detox not only teaches you to disconnect completely from the virtual world but gives you a better understanding of how to use technology intelligently for your benefit. The relationship between man and technology needs serious rethinking and digital detox does exactly that by giving a chance to understand that excess usage of technology is going to have serious repercussion in the future.
Digital detox helps individuals maintain a healthy balance between technology use and their real lives, allowing them to focus on important issues and gain a better perspective.
