In this paper, a novel video error concealment algorithm is presented for HEVC in wireless IP networks. More specifically, motion vector estimation is performed based on residual errors and block reliability. Then, mismatch errors along block boundary are calculated for reducing blocky effects along the block boundary. In the proposed approach, a downhill simplex approach is adopted for fine-tuning motion vectors, considering residual errors and block reliability, and minimizing boundary errors along prediction blocks at the same time. Exhaustive simulation results are presented to show the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
