Abstract
This paper expound on the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents, as well as the impact of mindfulness-based interventions on depressive symptoms in adolescents. A meta-analysis of 115 randomized controlled trials involving over 7,000 young participants revealed that CBT interventions were significantly more effective than alternatives, particularly for specific phobias. The study also found that CBT was equally effective in individual and group formats. Additionally, the paper explores how mindfulness-based interventions can improve emotion regulation skills, foster positive self-concept and self-compassion, and enhance interpersonal relationships among adolescents with depressive symptoms.
