Abstract
The eosinophil continues to interest investigators in immunology throughout the world, as was clear from the enthusiasm and excitement generated by the workshop on 'Eosinophils and Immunological Reactions' held at the 6th International Congress of Immunology. Five main areas of eosinophil biology were discussed: eosinophil chemotaxis, eosinophil mononuclear cell interactions, eosinophil activation, eosinophil-derived mediators and the mechanisms of eosinophil cytotoxicity.
