Abstract
ABSTRACT The composition of the essential oil of Erigeron canadensis L. (Compositae) growing in west Japan has been investigated by capillary GC and GC/M S. The oil was found to contain 47 volatile components of which 91.0% were terpenoid. The main constituents were limonene (31.2%), camphene (14.2%) and germacrene D (11.3%) accounting for 56.7% of the oil. Non-terpenoid acetylenic compounds have also been detected.
