Abstract
The anisotropic absorption and photoluminescence spectra from films obtained by using gel processing for orienting a conjugated polymer (poly(2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylexyloxy)-phenylene vinylene) guest blended into ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene are reported. It is concluded that gel processing results in orientation and a reduction in disorder through mesoepitaxy, i.e. epitaxial orientation of the conjugated polymer on the internal surfaces of the gel-processed PE
