Abstract
A four-element dual-band multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna based on co-axial probe fed microstrip circular patch is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna resonates at 3.72 GHz and 4.35 GHz. The higher resonant frequency is the conventional one of the circular patch antenna. The lower one is obtained by introducing a λg/2 slot in the ground plane. The port isolation at the lower frequency is enhanced (better than 15 dB) by incorporating simple arc-shaped slots in the ground plane. The ECC value is within the accepted range. The design possesses simplicity as well as a large one-dimensional array can be designed using the proposed MIMO antenna.
