Abstract
In light of great threat of malignant tumor and obvious toxic and side effects of commonly used medicines to human health,a new kind of anti-tumor drug with high efficiency, safety performance,13-methyltetradecanoic acid has important physiological function to human body as a kind of unique bioactive substance and it have received great attention especially due to peculiar efficacy of induction of apoptosis of tumor cells. The multiple mechanisms on induction of apoptosis of tumor cells of 13-methyltetradecanoic acid were summarized, such as mitogen-activated protein kinase signal channel, mitochondrial pathway and correlation relationship between carnitine palm acyl transferase and caspase enzyme are involved and elucidated,in addition, the development prospect and research direction of 13-methyltetradecanoic acid in the field were also discussed with a view to provide the all-round references to subsequent deep study.
13-methyltetradecanoic acid effectively induces apoptosis of tumor cells through multiple mechanisms, offering a promising anti-tumor drug with high efficiency and safety.
