Abstract
Religion and morality, while often equated in the popular mind, are not the same. The popular view, however, is understandable given the close connection between the two. In this article, the relationship of religion and morality is discussed through an exposition of several linkages between the religious and moral realms. Under the headings of moral sensitivity, moral reasoning, moral resolve, and moral decision making, it can be shown how religion and morality interact. In each case, the role of religion is important, but in no case can religion and morality simply be equated.
