Laves phase chrominide compounds are important potential high-temperature structural materials due to their high melting temperature,moderate density and good high temperature strength.However,one of the key problems that retarded their applications is their poor high temperature oxidation-resistance.The research on high temperature oxidation-resistance of Laves phase chrominide compounds was reviewed,including oxidation mechanism,high temperature oxidation protection by alloying and surface coating.Problems existing in the research were specified and the possible solutions were suggested.
