Based on the definition of characteristic bio-resources ,the theory and significances of its comprehensive exploitation were analyzed. After that, the comprehensive exploitation and demonstration of the characteristic during the period of the tenth five-year planning, was summarized in the fields of designing principle, the contents, the scheme of implementation and the benefit to ecology, economy and society. The project is a example for the development of bio-resources in China.
