Abstract
The electric moments of several imidazolidine derivatives in p‐xylene solution have been measured at various temperatures. It is suggested that the substances are mixtures of geometrical isomers which are in thermal equilibrium, the isomerism being due to the pyramidal arrangement of the valencies of the tervalent nitrogen. From the temperature dependence of the moments, the energy difference between the two postulated isomers is calculated to be about 1.6 kcal/mole.
