Abstract
In his introductory remarks Mr. Witte welcomed the panelists as well as the audience; he pointed out that, although discussions would start off between the panelists, it should be understood that this should by no means be a discussion only between panelists but that the audience is also invited to join in by asking questions and making comments — in short, to contribute to a discussion which should be as lively as possible. After having listened to the excellent presentations of this first day of the Congress, there would certainly be enough items to discuss or comment on. There would be no need to introduce the panelists as they had already been the speakers in today’s programme.
