The charge and spectrum characteristic of new prepared and six-hour-stored no-pickling chrome tanning solution are analyzed through ion exchange chromatography, and the possible composition and structure of the tanning solution is conjectured. Results show that the tanning liquors contained mainly negative and neutral complexes at the beginning of storage. After six hours of storage, there were a few positive complexes which were just single-point complexes and had little tanning property. Concerning the R value, the new prepared tanning liquor was 0.862 and the six-hour-stored was 0.891.
