A laboratory scale activated algae-reaction system was used for the re moval of nitrogen, phosphorus, chemical oxygen demand(CODCr) and biological oxy gen demand(BOD5) from artificial wastewater. The mean removal rates of TN, TP CO DCr and BOD5 were 77.62%,33.23% 90.89% and 95.77% respectively at retention time s of 24h and temperature of 26±2℃. When the hydraulic load was increased from 25 to 50L/d, and the retention time decreased correspondingly from 24 to 12h wit h the water temperature and the light intensity decreased, its treatment efficie ncy on TP and BOD5 was markedly effected, while that of CODCr was effected very little. It's treatment efficiency on TN was not effected basically the operation conditions had been changed; and the mean removal rates of TN were 77.62% and 7 7.86% respectively.
