Abstract
The goal of the Apollo Program was to land men on the Moon and return them safely to Earth. This goal was achieved in the Apollo 11 mission, with two astronauts stepping onto the lunar soil on July 20,1969. A number of similar missions for further exploration of the Moon are planned.
Study Snapshot
The medical experience in the Apollo Program shows that astronauts experienced minimal health issues during the spaceflights, with the exception of a small pulmonary embolism during the first lunar landing.
