Abstract
AbstractEMG tests were carried out before and after 30 min of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, either of the trigeminal nerve or of the spinal accessory nerve in a group of patients suffering from tension headache. After TENS hypertonia of most of the muscles disappeared. This test is of value to differentiate tension headache due, for instance, to temporo-mandibular joint dysfunctions from other types of headache such as migraine.
