Abstract
Objective To systematic review the effectiveness and safety of 20 mg atorvastatin treatment in type 2 diabetes with carotid atherosclerosis. Methods Computer retrieval China biomedical literature database,China periodical full text database,Wanfang periodical database and manual search of relevant literature to find the randomized controlled trial of using 20 mg atorvastatin in treatment of type 2 diabetic patients with carotid artery atherosclerosis, according to the Cochrane system evaluation method, the objective evaluation of the quality of literature in the extraction of effective data,Meta-analysis were analyzed by RevMan S.2 software. Results 6 randomized controlled trials, including 54 S patients were enrolled. The results showed that, with the conventional treatment of diabetes or combined with atorvastatin 10 mg,the conventional treatment of diabetes combined with atorvastatin 20 mg can reduce the carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT)(SMD =0.%,95%CI 0.50-1.43,P 0.01),adverse event rates were not statistically significant(OR = 0.47,95%CI 0.18- 1.22,P 0.05).Conclusion It demonstrated that atorvastatin(20 mg) in treatment of type 2 diabetes with carotid atherosclerosis is effective and safety.
