Abstract
Another novel idea in modern physics that fuels our imagination is antimatter. Every material object in our universe, we believe, is made up of atoms, which in turn are a collection of further smaller particles that interact. However, if go by the particle physics dictum that for every particle there is an antiparticle, there must be another form of matter that is made of antimatter particles. Antimatter particles are no more than the dreams and imagination of the physicists, but they are as tangible as normal matter. Can we feel, taste and shape them as we do ordinary matter? Not yet, because they are the most delicate particles to create and stockpile. We have created them in small amounts and there are efforts to generate them massively. Beware! When matter meets with antimatter, they annihilate each other, producing a flash of energy.
Antimatter particles are as tangible as normal matter, but their creation and stockpiling are challenging due to their delicate nature and potential for annihilation when they meet.
