Gabapentin for Acute Headache Management
Gabapentin in Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (aSAH)
Gabapentin has been explored for its potential to manage acute headaches, particularly in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). In a pilot study, all patients became pain-free within eight days of starting gabapentin therapy, significantly reducing the duration of headache bouts. This suggests that gabapentin may be effective for cluster headache management, particularly in patients who do not respond to traditional treatments .
