Abstract
(4-phenylthio)phenyl diphenyl sulfonium hexafluorophosphate were prepared by the condensation of biphenyl sulfoxide with biphenyl sulfide, in the presence of P2O5 used as dehydration agent and methanesulfonic acid used as solvent. 4-(phenylthio) triphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate was identified by elemental analysis, UV, IR, G-MC and H-NMR. The sulfonium salt has better curing character to epoxy resin.
