Abstract
Tris(trimethylsilyl)silane reacts spontaneously at ambient temperature with molecular oxygen to form (Me 3 SiO) 2 Si(H)SiMe 3 in high yield. The reaction proceeds via a free-radical chain mechanism and probably involves three consecutive unimolecular processesn which are undknown in the literature
