Abstract
Derivatives of carbamic acid are widely used as chemical agents for plant protection. The aryl esters of N-methylcarbamic acid are used to control harmful insects. The alkyl esters of N-arylcarbamic acids are powerful herbicides for the control of monocotyledonous weeds. Fungicidal compounds are also found among the derivatives of carbamic acid. The relationship of the biological activity of this group of compounds to their structure has been studied, and for some of the most important compounds their metabolism in living organisms has been investigated.
Carbamic acid derivatives are effective plant protection agents, controlling harmful insects, weeds, and fungi, with their biological activity influenced by their structure and metabolism in living organisms.
