Abstract
The work reports facile synthesis of novel 2-(4-((2, 4-dioxothiazolidin-5-ylidene) methyl)-2-methoxyphenoxy)-Nsubstituted acetamide derivatives 3(a-o), accomplished in good yields in three steps, using conventional, mild reaction conditions. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their hypoglycemic activity in Wister albino mice animal model and histopathological studies of kidney and liver were performed to check the toxicity effects of the synthesized derivatives. All derivatives have shown significant hypoglycemic activity.
Novel 2-(4-((2, 4-dioxothiazolidin-5-ylidene) methyl)-2-methoxyphenoxy)-Nsubstituted acetamide derivatives show significant hypoglycemic activity in mice, with no toxicity effects observed.
