Abstract
Environmental protection and conservation of resources is a major challenge in developing nations like Nigeria. The intensity and severity of environmental pollution is in the increasing trend. Both living and non-living components of the ecosystem are affected by environmental pollution. According to Izah et al.,1 and Ohimain et al.,2 emission of greenhouse gases, changes in climatic condition and increased atmospheric temperature are some of the factors leading to environmental degradation.
Environmental pollution, climate change, and increased atmospheric temperature negatively impact biodiversity in the Niger delta region of Nigeria.
