Abstract
N-(3-Amino-4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide is an important intermediate for the production of azo disperse dyes, while it is still produced by reduction with iron powder in industry currently. A novel Pd / C catalyst with high activity, high selectivity and good stability developed by our group was used for the hydrogenation of N-(3-nitro-4- methoxyphenyl)acetamide into N-(3-amino-4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide in methanol and water, respectively. The hydrolyzations of reactant and product were decreased in the presence of little basic agent, and the selectivity of 99.3% can be obtained.
The novel Pd/C catalyst enables a green, selective hydrogenation of N-(3-nitro-4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide into N-(3-amino-4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide in methanol and water, with a selectivity of 99
