Abstract
A method for preparation of 3-bromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde using p-hydroxybenzaldehyde as the raw material,H2O2/HBr as the bromination agent was developed.Under the optimum conditions including a ratio of n(p-HBA)∶n(H2O2)∶n(HBr)=1∶1.2∶1.8,a reaction temperature of 20 ℃,and a reaction time of 140 min,the product yield was up to 70.04%.The process is simple and convenient in operation and can cause less environmental pollution.
The developed method for synthesis of 3-bromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde using p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, H2O2/HBr, achieves up to 70.04% product yield and is simple, convenient, and environmentally friendly.
