Abstract
The reaction of 1,4-dioxanyl peroxyl radical with 5-amino-6-methyluracil gave the following major products: 5,5,6-trihydroxy-6-methyldihydropyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 6-hydroxy-6-methyldihydropyrimidine-2,4,5(3H)-trione, and 6-hydroxy-5-hydroxyimino-6-methyldihydropyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione. A radical chain reaction mechanism was proposed for the oxidation of 1,4-dioxane in the presence of 5-amino-6-methyluracil.
The oxidation of 1,4-dioxane with 5-amino-6-methyluracil leads to the formation of 5,5,6-trihydroxy-6-methyldihydropyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 6,hydroxy-6-methyldihydro
