Tetramethylpyrazine inhibits platelet aggregation and ATP-release reaction in human platelets through two pathways: inhibiting phosphoinositide breakdown and thromboxane A2 formation at lower concentrations and binding to the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex at higher concentrations.
