Abstract
Four 1‐[(benzofuran‐2‐yl)methyl]imidazoles (1–4) have been evaluated as in‐vitro inhibitors of human testicular and bovine adrenal microsomal 17α‐hydroxylase: 17,20‐lyase (P450 17) as potential anti‐prostatic agents. Their specificity towards other steroidogenic and liver enzymes has been compared with that of ketoconazole.
The 1[(benzofuran-2yl)methyl]imidazoles show potential as anti-prostatic agents with similar specificity to ketoconazole towards other steroidogenic and liver enzymes.
