Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of faropenem sodium for injection in the treatment of acute urinary tract infection.Methods A multicenter,randomized,controlled clinical trial was conducted for treatment of 144 patients with acute urinary tract infection.The total number of subjects for per-protocol(PP)analysis was 131,66 cases in trial group(faropenem sodium)while 65 cases in control group(imipenem/cilastatin sodium).The daily dose of faropenem and imipenem are 0.6 g and 1.0 g respectively.Both drugs were given intravenously twice daily.The treatment duration for both groups was from 7 to 14 days(at least 5 days).Results The cure rate for trial and control was 66.67% and 61.54%.The effective rate for trial and control was separately 95.45% and 95.38%.The bacterial eradication rate for trial and control was separately 96.23% and 92.31%.The incidence of drug adverse reaction was 14.08% and11.11%,respectively.Conclusion Faropenem sodium for injection is both effective and safe drug for acute urinary tract infection.
