Abstract
2-Cyano-3-(2-nitrophenyl)-ethyl acrylate was converted to ethyl 2-aminoquinoline-3-carboxylate under reflux in acetic acid with iron powder as the reducing agent.The results showed that the optimum molar ratio of 2-cyano-3-(2-nitrophenyl)-ethyl acrylate to iron powder was 1 to 5,and the target compound was obtained in 94.7% yield with the structure confirmed by 1H NMR and GC-MS.
The optimal molar ratio of 2-cyano-3-(2-nitrophenyl)-ethyl acrylate to iron powder for ethyl 2-aminoquinoline-3-carboxylate synthesis is 1 to 5, yielding 94.7% of the target compound.
