Randomized,double-blind and controlled clinical trial of 2% salicylic acid gel on treating Acne vulgaris

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2% salicylic acid gel on treating acne vulgaris.Methods Randomized,double-blind and effective drug(5% Benzoyl peroxide gel) parallel comparison trial was adopted.Patients with mild and moderate acne vulgaris were the samples,which were treated with 2% salicylic acid gel or 5% Benzoyl peroxide gel 2 times daily for 6 weeks.Results The effective rate of 2% salicylic acid gel in the course of 2,4,6 weeks is 5%,30% and 60%,respectively,and no significant adverse reaction was found.There was no statistically difference between the two groups of 2% salicylic acid gel and 5% Benzoyl peroxide gel in efficacy or adverse reaction.Conclusion The 2% salicylic acid gel is effective and safe on treating acne vulgaris.
