Abstract
The elimination reaction of α,β-dibromo-3-(3′-nitrophenyl) propanoic acid was investigated.In alcohol solutions with different concentrations and using Na2CO3 or NaHCO3 as elimination reagent,α,β-dibromo-3-(3′-nitrophenyl) popanoic acid was eliminated to produce 3-nitrophenyl-acetylene and 3-(3′-nitrophenyl)-2,3-oxiranecarboxylic acid.The products were confirmed by NMR and LC-MS.The mechanism of the elimination reaction was discussed.
The elimination reaction of,-dibromo-3-(3′-nitrophenyl) propanoic acid produces 3-nitrophenyl-acetylene and 3-(3′-nitrophenyl)-2,3-oxiranecarboxylic acid under weak basic conditions.
